There's always a question, sir

A note left on my desk while I was off-site:

The printer has given up the ghost

No signature. No location. No idea.

No chance. Straight into the bin.

I get emails where you have to read the subject line because the body of the message just says "?" (sans quotes). This is great as long as the sender has remembered to fill in the subject line. How does one reply "?" to the follow-up phonr call that says "Did (or didn't) you get my email?"

As I once heard you say, it's a creative writing opportunity.

If only you knew who sent this, you could leave a note on their desk that says "the ghost is in the machine"

Lavinia, we long since concluded that our hardware is haunted. It's the only explanation for so much.

Here it is: "This Library is for the use of bona fide Scholars and may only be used at the discretion of the Librarian."

Lavinia, that is a peach of a notice!

However did we omit "bona fide scholars?"

I'll leave others to question the discretion of librarians...
