Your television is being controlled by the Woodcraft Folk

If one of our Reference Librarians doesn't stop bleating that she's "not been trained in the use of online encyclopedias" and hasn't "had time to look at anything on the internet" in the decade that she's had access to the web on her works PC I'm going to ask her where she went on her "how to peel an orange" course so that I can send somebody on it as part of their annual Performance Review.

That's disgusting. When did she get her degree, 1922?

At least we know she didn't get her degree at one of those on-line universities...

Moo!

For some of our reference librarians, "on-line" is limited to laundry drying days.

I know a good library trainer who's considering doing consultant work...

Thanks Marianne.

I'd advise them to remind their clients that the role of the consultant is to advise, train and facilitate, not to do library managers' jobs for them.

Double echo on that one Kevin!

We've got consultants in and it's given our senior managers the excuse to abdicate from service development almost completely!
