You're playing my tune out of tune

We're the latest library authority to receive a letter from the Performing Rights Society telling us that we have to buy music licences for each of our libraries because we're provide public access to the internet and customers may look up a site with music on it.

I'm asked for input on a response. I suggest:

Dear chancer,

Why don't you just fuck off.

Yours sincerely

Outrageous! (The initial snivelling request, I mean - not your response. Performing rights...)

oh... the number of times I've wanted to use those very words to customers, competitors, colleagues. No doubt that's why I haven't progressed in my career over the last 12 years. Well, fuck 'em, I say.

We've got PRS licences for the libraries in which we play music but I think their letter was just taking the piss.

Hmmmmmm.....a little verbose, methinks. It could actually be trimmed, by about....four words? For argument's sake, let's say...the first four. And it would still convey the same thrust brilliantly!
