90% Ovaltine

By way of being a hymn to the librarians in one of our main libraries...

Now we're fully automated
We don't need all them there cards,
Kept in date and surname order
Stuck in trays in serried yards.
What? You wouldn't want to lose them?
"They may fill some unknown void."
If you've time for real-time update
Could be you're under-employed.

Is this to be sung to the tune if "We Are The Ovaltineys", Kevin? (If not I don't understand the Ovaltine connection, though I'm cheered as the malty bedtime drink was manufactured not a mile from where I grew up).

Thankee kindly Marianne!

gd: like all the cultural references in this blog, the connections are oblique to put it mildly. Let's just say that one of our libraries is still struggling with the cultural implications of the cat's whisker.

The Ovaltiney song that Frog and I wrote is too well-known in "real life" (ha ha ha ha ha ha!) for me to take the risk, sadly.
