I know who I was when I got up this morning

Telephone call from the Reference Library:

"We've a customer here who wants to know if he can get onto his web site on our computers. Can he?"

"Have you tried?"

"Yes."

"Could he?"

"No."

"Looks like the answer's 'no' then, doesn't it?"

If I get onto the library leadership course I'll learn how not to give empirically useful answers.

To be fair, you did say "It Looks like the answer's 'no' then" which does appear to leave a grain of hope for the poor sods and keeps your Delphic qualities unsullied.
