Elections

Being a local government officer and so subject to draconian English law on political comment I have to be careful about yesterday's local elections. We pussyfoot all the more locally as Helminthdale is a four-way marginal council. Which is to say that in most wards you would scarcely slide a cigarette paper between the votes of the three main parties and then no matter what configuration officially gets elected there's a couple of months' worth of in-fighting, back-biting and the settling of old family scores and when the dust settles the administration consists of the largest group of people who don't actually hate each other.

The results are in and all the maps are coloured in and it's business as usual. So that's all right then.
