Since last Wednesday T.Aldous has been wittering on about a "Mind your head" sign for Umpty Library. We must be due a health and safety inspection.

What if you don't mind your head? What if, in fact, you have quite a liking for your head? And toes, and handbags?

Sorry, across the Atlantic "mind" means more colloquially "I don't mind" as in, I don't care....

As in fact, you will say to yourself when you read Cow's poorly expressed and probably inaccurately spelled posting here.

Thank God T.Aldous only thinks he's talking to the locals. If he had to take into account the wider world's vernacular we'd never have a warning sign in the cellar stairway.

Which, strangely enough, is where we began.
