Keeping people ignorant

Helminthdale Library's re-opened on schedule a couple of days ago. This is a very rare thing. Such a rare thing that I don't think it entirely unreasonable not to expect somebody to send an announcement to staff in the far provinces of the empire to let them know it's business as usual.

Helminthdale is up again? So, that's where you work, right?

So, you shouldn't still be moving crap in and out of other libraries, right?

No?

Moo!

At time of writing we've got one library closed ready for the builders to put in a new floor, ceiling and four new walls (I wish I were making that up!) plus one about to decamp to pastures new and half the size; one about to close for a few weeks to have disabled person's toilets fited where the store-rooms used to be; and one about to close to have a whole new floor (a new, non-toilet-related theme, I suspect!). And bear in mind that we've moved two libraries to smaller premises this year.

And we don't throw anything away. Ever. We just shift it from one place to another.
