They say it's storms out at sea but I blame the telly

We've been casting what's left of our minds at the business of official Helminthdale Library Service merchandising, what with there being a recession and all.

Here we have the Helminthdale Library Service Umbrella, a snip at just twenty guineas.

As you can see, in keeping with our general philosophy there is no cover for a rainy day and the whole sorry mess is falling to bits.

Look Kevin: we both know it is important for there to be no cover for a rainy day. If there were, there would be no need for a Consultant to be employed to recommend the purchase of a raincoat (An expensive one, with a hood. And mittens. Supplied by someone he knows). Without Consultants being created, unemployment in certain Shires would rise by some thousands of percent.

There is the obvious bookmark, but then one would have to have a book into which one put place it.

The spokes are a bit of a problem.

Affer: we have a new line on consultancy in Helminthdale. I shall expand on it shortly...

Madame DF: everyone and his dog offloads promotional booksmarks onto us. Until The Grand Clearout we actually had more bookmarks than books at Helminthdale Central!

Pat: the spokes are the one reliable component.

Actually this looks like the blueprint for the sort of umbrella they use against Bulgarian dissidents, wot!? Did "Q Branch" come up with this?
