Not being cynical at all

Cosmo, who's been covering at Roadkill Library, is leaving us shortly to join somebody else's circus. I get a 'phone call from Daisy Duck at Dutch Bend.

"Can you do me a favour? Could you put a collection envelope on the table for Cosmo? I've been busy with a pile of other things lately and it's only just occurred to me that nobody will have organised a collection."

"Surely his line manager would have organised that already?"

My, how we laughed.

"Cosmo ... is leaving us shortly to join somebody else's circus...". It'll be different circus, same clowns, Kev, just you wait... different circus, same clowns.

Cow admits she's rather tired of being asked to contribute to going-away gifts.

First, even if you worked beside them for years, you probably don't like them. Or if you do, you probably will never see them again, because they will NEVER want to go back there to visit, once they're OUT!

Cow kind of feels management should pay for the work parties. They are the ones who make it so miserable that you need parties in the first place.

Moo!

I rather feel that the people who escape should buy the rest of us consolation prizes.
