That's definitely a racing driver's pinny is that

Give Noreen her due: despite the ten a.m. arrival of those boxes of books from the last-minute raid on the suppliers' warehouse she's managed to get the orders and invoices done and dusted in time for Maudie to run over to the Treasurer's Department in time to meet the end-of-year deadline.

I used to have a Noreen - so to speak - in my shop. Worth her weight in gold she was.

One day early in fact.... Still time to run up a few purchase orders to accrue an overspend on the budget :)

Leaving everything to the last minute is a time-honoured way of getting things done: it ensures that the one really responsible person with a conscience will eventually drop all their own work and do it for you :-)

Hooray for Noreen!

My absolute pet hate is people who leave everything to the last minute for people like me to sort out. Having said that, well done Noreen!

I like doing things early, and putting them in a cupboard - just incase - then at the last minute when I bring them out and say "here's one I prepared earlier" I'd also like a racing drivers pinny for emergency BBQ's

Pat: definitely.

Macy: oh we wish! Or perhaps not...

Gadjo: exactly as described!

eyeball: yay!

Happy Frog & You: were it down to Noreen we'd close the books at Xmas.

Wendy: emergency BBQs may need the attendance of firemen...
