Delicate

One of those overheard conversations you're happy not to be involved in. Noreen is ringing TSO...

"I know it's a silly question, but you've been sending our Reference Librarians a copy of The Daily List for years but this stopped a couple of weeks ago. Did we ever have a subscription with you for it?

"No...

"No...

"I don't know: it never went through our department and unfortunately the Reference Librarians don't know if they took one out themselves."

Kevin I honestly don't where to begin. I've been catching up here and may I just inquire, how on earth do you all squeeze into that handbasket that is conveying you steadily yet speedily to your end destination, where all handbaskets go? For God's sake Kev, jump out, jump out now while you still have a few shreds of sanity and dignity left. I'm standing by the side of the road, opposite the ditch, waving a glow-stick so that you may be better guided as you make your leap...for life!

Am I to understand that the reference librarians can't find a reference to a subscription? How do they feel about that?

Lavinia: fear not: I have one of the best seats at teh circus!

Wendy: would it be stamping on too many illusions for me to let you know that this is a commonplace?
