Hahaha! In Germany we have a saying when a person dies: "He left a painful gap." Am I right to think "your" project disappeared? As the many "Leitbilder"(mission statement?) that each new president gave out, here?
Britta: "He left a painful gap" is a wonderful euphemism, I shall steal it off you. (It'll make a change from the usual "quite well-respected within the profession.") Mission statements are designed to fade in the daylight. :)
