Jingle bell rock

The fifth of our libraries' Christmas parties is now in full flow and looks like it's going to be as good a do as the others so far. Which is nice as they've all been heaving with bodies, pop and cake and have managed to raise serious amounts of money for charity by auctioning teddy bears and playing games of pin the tail on the local councillor.

To further enhance the Yuletide cheer, the annual prolonged Christmas slugfest at Windscape Library has been very low key and hasn't dragged in many innocent parties. Goodwill to all ladies of a certain age.

Sounds absolutely marvelous, Kev: five Christmas parties already. Any sign yet of the three blokes called 'Maggie'?

How many parties?? Blimey, you know how to live it up don't you...in my neck of the woods it's just a firm handshake and a nod of the head at the close of Christmas Eve....and how old is 'of a certain age' for ladies? I suspect I may be well over it....

Gadjo: Only the one. But he does no one any harm.

libby: these aren't the staff parties, these are the ones for the public. There have been three staff parties so far, with two to come that I know of. Heads have been fragile.

"A certain age" is when somebody is old enough to act childishly but young enough not to have any excuse for it.

Nota Bene: bad luck, sir. :(

Next one's Saturday. Bring an alibi.

Tsk Not sure of the wisdom of limiting your Christmas wishes only to "Ladies of a Certain Age"....
We don't like being singled out from the rest you know!
